The 4L Trophy is a student humanitarian raid with a triple objective: sports, humanitarian and solidarity. Each crew, aboard their legendary Renault 4L, will travel nearly 6000 km in 10 days through France (Village-Departure unique in Biarritz), Spain and Morocco. It is also more of an orienteering race than a speed race. The Roadbook handed out each morning and the compass are the only guides allowed.
Sharing and solidarity are values specific to the 4L Trophy and the participating teams that have the main objective of crossing the Moroccan desert to hand over school and sports equipment (50kg per team) or/and financial donations to the partner association "Children of the Desert" which helps the poorest children in Morocco. Each year, about 82 tonnes of school and sports supplies are distributed. Since 2012, 11 schools and 2 sanitary blocks have been built and 15,000 children in school thanks to financial donations from the participants of the 4L Trophy.
Through the "4L Solidarity" operation, the 4L Trophy also helps in France. Each crew is tasked with bringing about 10 kg of non-perishable food to the departure villages. All food is then entrusted to the French Red Cross and the Food Bank, which will redistribute it to French families in need.
