Les Camions du Coeur’ is an action of the Restos du Coeur during which hot meals are distributed every night of the week in Villeurbanne, to anyone who wishes to benefit from it.
Solidari’terre offers students of emlyon business school to get involved one evening a week from 6:30 pm to 11 pm from Monday to Friday. The objective is for students to get involved on a regular basis so that they know the beneficiaries and can exchange with them in addition to distributing meals. The mission takes place in Villeurbanne in the courtyard of the Raphaël de Barros sports complex.
A typical evening takes place in three stages. First, the volunteers help prepare and load the truck, then set up the distribution site. After the meals are distributed, the students can share a moment of exchange with the beneficiaries. This can consist of French lessons, help with administrative procedures or professional integration, or even activities with the children. Finally, they return to the premises and help tidy up before sharing their evenings with the other volunteers over a meal.
Each year, many emlyon students are motivated by this mission, although it is quite demanding, and their presence at the Camions among the other volunteers is useful and appreciated.
Due to the current health context, the number of volunteers has been reduced. The mission has been stopped for the moment but should resume soon.
